Well, here goes. We have a move-in date for the end of this month. Our builder assures us all will be ready...
Meanwhile, here's our fabulous carpenter working on the living room shelving unit. Its custom made for the hi-fi units and turntable and record albums.
The siding trim on the outside was done over the weekend and we took the crew an enormous pizza as a thank you. I've never seen such an enormous piece of pie...
but the carton was empty by Monday.

And just on the other side of the shared wall, in the sunroom, the tiling was laid. We are really happy with the colour and the warmth of the stone. This is the same tile we are using in the entry hall.
I really love that this is the view from the dining room area, the oak stair has been ordered for the step down into the sunroom and that should be put in place once the floor is grouted. Tiling was going at a pace with the shower in the master bath nearly done, the flooring yet to be done, and the entire guest bath completed, save grouting.
We finished ordering all the light fixtures for the gallery, which had finishing work being done on the drywall, in anticipation of painting. While at the lighting store, they told us all the other fixtures were coming in this week...so, more lights going up...yesterday the ceiling can lights in the kitchen were hooked up, nice...
Of course, as the house gets closer to completion, our minds turn to the garden. We are big fans of pebbled pathways and beds tucked alongside to add delight and little surprises...much like the garden we had in England....here was a little local inspiration we saw a few days ago...
And, of course, daily we are reminded of the gift of stone by this beautiful sight outside the cottage door...it has inspired and shaped our vision of what we will do with landscaping at the house...
