Leaving England at a time of such pageantry seems amazing... streets festooned with bunting and street parties all over the place.
And that of course is what this country does so well... create a sense of history and ceremony that unifies the country, at least for a while.
Time for us to reflect on our last week here...
Nicholas
We have had a fabulous day so far.
Great breakfast at our B&B, a walk on Ranmore the hill which is to the west of Dorking and where a part of the Canterbury Trail runs, then on to Mem and Dad's flat to decorate both their balconies with Union Jack bunting in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We shared a lunch with them and ended the afternoon with a visit to friends who also just recently moved from the Mews. Tonight we have dinner with Steve and Helly, great Mewsters who journeyed to the American west with us in 2007.
With all the "big push" items in place for the move, it seems as though it is to be a week of spending intimate time in laughter and fellowship with those we most love as we prepare to cross the sea and begin what will be another chapter of our story.
As if to remind me to trust, to rest, to allow...these sheep are just outside our window on Rose Hill. They eat and rest, walk around a little, then eat and rest some more.
This seems like a good plan for now.
Judy
